What happens if your book is published with glaring grammatical errors? And when we say “glaring”, we’re talking about bawat page may error, tapos titirik nalang yung mga mata mo sa disappointment, ganern.

Well, here are some possible scenarios:

  • *Some* readers won’t notice the errors. Pero kung bawat page meron, hello, ikaw na mahiya diba.
  • *Some* readers will notice at humanda ka sa online bashing. Worst-case scenario? They will post screenshots of your errors at pagpe-piyestahan ka sa groups.
  • You will die of embarrassment.
  • At dahil napahiya ka na, you will lose the “passion” to write.
  • Matatakot ka na mag-self-publish dahil may mga hinayupak na fake publishers dyan sa tabi-tabi na di alam ginagawa nila.
  • Your printed books with so many errors will be rejected by bookstores and you will suffer from a bad reputation, like, “Uy sya yung author ng book na ang daming wrong grammar.”

Remember, many people—especially the “inggit” ones who have always wanted to write a book but can’t—are waiting to see you fail when you do something they love. This is why I keep saying that the MVP in self-publishing is the Experienced Editor that you will hire. A professional editor, who actually studied the rules of grammar and has work experience in publishing companies, is like your armor. He/she protects you from having a bad reputation as an author, cyberbullying because of badly edited printed books, and basically the premature death of your budding career.

BUT, I also know that not everyone can afford to hire a professional and experienced editor.

AND you’ve told me so many horror stories about your bad experiences working with so-called pub houses who say they edited your books but they didn’t. And even if they did, their editors probably don’t know any better.

HAY.

While I believe that it’s the responsibility of legitimate publishing companies to provide their authors/clients with experienced editors, I also believe that the author is responsible for submitting a complete and professional-looking manuscript to *real* publishers. Can you do that? Yes, you can! You just need to know how to self-edit!

This means that you need to know basic self-editing guidelines to make your manuscript look professional because…

  • You’re setting yourself APART from hundreds of applicants. When your manuscript is self-edited, you create a good reputation for a potential publisher.
  • Your chances of getting a publishing contract (a real one) increase because it shows that you are serious about this. Hindi yung maka-send ka lang ng manuscript kahit na kulang-kulang tapos bahala na si Batman. Batman doesn’t care.

In this webinar, I will teach some self-editing techniques that you can do before you submit your manuscripts. This way, in case you end up working with those “so-called pub houses”, mas mababawasan yung errors sa manuscript mo because you already know some self-editing techniques (baka mas maging magaling ka pa sa mga so-called editors ng ibang pub houses dyan sa tabi-tabi, harhar).

Listen up, a real editor and a publisher will teach the following:

  • What is the difference between Summary, Synopsis, and Book Description and how to write each one.
  • Self-editing tips, techniques, and guidelines that we follow in PaperKat Books.
  • The complete set of information you should send to a publisher (hint: It’s not just your manuscript).

I want to teach as many aspiring authors as I can, so I made sure that the registration fee is affordable to all.

And guess what, if you don’t give a damn about self-editing because you think ikaw ang pinakamagaling na author sa balat ng lupa, well, publishers—like me—also don’t give a damn.

Always be teachable. That’s how you improve.

So, let me teach you.
