Excerpt from Beyond Happily Ever After

By Rovie Divinagracia-Peralta

For a hopeless romantic like me, I’ve always thought that the “happily ever after” begins with marriage. At least that was what I thought.

I’m your typical girl. Since I was a little kid, all I ever thought about was how to find my very own “prince charming” who would sweep me off my feet and ask for my hand in marriage.

Even at a young age, I would always dream about my princess moment wherein I am wearing my beautiful wedding gown, holding my bouquet and standing beside my prince charming.

This went on for a long time until I met the man who captured my heart at first sight.

It was 12 years ago when I met the guwapong chinito na may kotse stereotype, a guy who I have been wishing for since I was young.

I felt so lucky because I ended up with the exact person I wished for. It was a whirlwind romance but our relationship got stronger through time.
